Based on a short story by Dana Johnson, this 90-minute reading blends video projection, music, song, movement, and dramatic storytelling to bring to life the powerful and inspiring true story of an extraordinary woman.  The play takes us through the life of Biddy Mason, an enslaved woman brought to California in 1848, where she eventually won her freedom in court and became a successful businesswoman and philanthropist.
